care and maintenance of insect screensPresident Insect Screens have been designed for easy maintenance and cleaning as required by the 1995 General Food Hygiene Regulations.Frequency of cleaning:All the mesh panels should be removed for cleaning on average twice to four times a year depending on the area where they are installed. For example, screens installed above or near cooking facilities will tend to accumulate far more dirt and grime and should therefore be cleaned approximately every three months.Removing and replacing the panels for cleaning: Horizontal Sliding Screens - Hold each panel firmly and lift up until the bottom of the panel is clear of the
outer frame at the base, then carefully tilt the bottom of the panel away from the frame to remove it. Re-installing the panels is the reverse of the above procedure. Vertical Sliding Screens - Hold each panel firmly and move to one side to compress the springs until the opposite side can be moved away from the frame and the panel can be removed. Re-installing the panels is the reverse of the above procedure. Rigid Screens - Support the screen and rotate the turn buttons until the screen can be lifted clear. PLEASE NOTE: It is essential that each sliding panel is re-installed to the frame from which it was removed, otherwise it will not slide efficiently. Cleaning the panels:1. Place each panel on a flat surface and then vacuum to remove loose dust and dirt.2. Spray or apply liquid detergent - normal household strength should suffice - across all the panel, and lightly rub the mesh with a cloth or soft brush to loosen any grease or ingrained dirt. 3. Rinse off with clean water. 4. With Horizontal or Vertical Sliding Screens, once the panels have been removed, vacuum clean the channels to remove excess dirt before re-installing the panels. 5. Clean and wipe down the aluminium frame with a soft cloth using liquid detergent as necessary. 6. Panels are dishwasher-safe for cleaning up to 5% caustic. | ||
